Matthew McKissock, DMD, FAGD
After graduating from The Citadel, Dr. McKissock earned his Doctorate from the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry. He spent the next year learning advanced general dentistry in a residency program at Fort Carson in Colorado, and during this time, he published an award-winning article in the prestigious Journal of the Academy of General Dentistry. This research helped mold his philosophy of reducing dental anxiety in his patients by eliminating pain from their dental procedures.
Dr. McKissock also received intensive cosmetic training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the premier postgraduate institution for cosmetic dental training, and he attended the world-renowned Pankey Institute as well. Following his studies in Colorado, Dr. McKissock worked as a dentist in the US military in Georgia and Kuwait. In 2007 Dr. McKissock become a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry due to his extensive postgraduate education and board testing. And in 2008 Dr McKissock completed the one year Maxi-course for implant training from New York University.
On weekends, you can usually find Dr. McKissock spending time with his family by either coaching football, basketball or baseball for his son Jack or following his daughters Matti and Elli around the country as they play volleyball. On the rare occasion he is not involved with those sports you can spot him on the lake with his family and his wife, Kerry.
